Mark .... My love ... You are quite simply , the most extraordinary person I have ever met . Today is your 18th sober birthday 18th ?!!!! And I think I can safely say that I am the only other person apart from you who truly knows what that has taken . The strength that you mine on a daily basis to stay clean and sober for the ones you love is gargantuan. Hard enough for anyone , in this drink obsessed world . But with the added pressure you have of dealing with anxiety and depression in the way that you do I literally don’t know how you do it . I couldn’t . Most people I know couldn’t. Your sobriety feels like an act of love everyday darling . I know you do it for me and for your daughters . And it is the greatest of gifts . Thank you . You are the love of my life . Thank you for our wild ride through this fuck up that is life . I’ve loved it all . The good the bad and the ugly .
