Raising a little foodie who knows his stuff! 🍽️Fun fact: at just 3 years old, Royce could tell good vs. bad ingredients (before he could even spell them! )🤯 Whether we’re traveling, cooking at home, or trying new restaurants, he loves reading labels, asking about ingredients, and appreciating real flavors. 🍓🥑🍞 Raising a little foodie is possible! Here’s how we’ve nurtured our son’s love for real, quality food from the start: 1️⃣ Make Label Reading a Game – Turn grocery trips into fun missions! Show kids how to check ingredients and spot the “no-go” ones like artificial flavors, dyes, and HFCS. 2️⃣Involve Them in Cooking – Kids are more likely to appreciate real food when they help make it. Let them chop, mix, and taste-test as you cook together. 3️⃣ Teach the “Why” Without Fear – Instead of “this is bad,” explain how certain ingredients can affect energy, focus, and health in a way they understand. (“This gives you strong muscles” > “This is unhealthy.”) 4️⃣ Make Healthy Choices the Default – If real food is what’s available, it becomes the norm! Keep whole foods stocked, and they won’t crave the ultra-processed stuff. 5️⃣ Let Them Order & Choose – Whether at restaurants or home, let them pick their own meals from a set of good options. It builds confidence in their food choices! 6️⃣ Lead by Example – If they see you prioritizing good ingredients, they’ll naturally follow. Kids absorb more from what we do than what we say! It takes time, but once they develop a taste for real food, they won’t even want the artificial stuff. If you’ve read all the way, it’s clear you’re someone who truly cares about your child’s wellness.
