I was filling out a prompt a few months ago that asked why I’m passionate about photography. Why does taking photos bring me so much joy? If you’ve shot with me, you’ve most likely seen me get SUPER excited when we get “THE” shot. Photos used to be my least favorite thing ever. I’ve struggled with eating disorders, mental health challenges, and everything in between. From age 19-22, I have zero photos of myself. I wanted to hide. I didn’t want others to see me in such a dark place. Fast forward to now, photos still intimidate me. They still make me uncomfortable, but the joy of photography is something that I craved years ago. I wanted to feel seen, heard, and beautiful. That is simply my job. I make people feel seen, heard, and beautiful.
