So grateful that I get to have days like this with my luvs, @linofoto and Alma Bee🐝. It’s so rejuvenating to be outside, to feel the sunshine and to laugh loudly. I love watching my little Baby Bee develop a love for land, and connection to the ocean, and to hear her say that she loves the sand, and the trees, the water, and the wind. I don’t take the opportunity lightly, since I’m from the Pacific Northwest, and all these beautiful and sacred Native Hawaiian places full of Aloha are such a gift to know. I admittedly feel guilty being here- since The Kingdom of Hawaii’s is illegally occupied, and Hawai’i is not a paradise for tourist consumption- and although I came here to do a story about protecting Mauna Kea, I still feel a sense of duty and responsibility to tread lightly and give back to the Native nation of this place. I aim to be part of the solution and stand in solidarity with my Kānaka Maoli relatives, and am so grateful to see and feel your incredible homelands.
