Adam + Eve (Lucas Cranach the Elder), 21 x 20 inch, 2022 This painting has a mark shape of white beeswax polish. Very thin and hardly visible - still, worth mentioning as a conceptual component: Wipe outs of marks leave visible watermarks on dark surfaces. They don’t look nice and caused me some pain: After an intense process of layering a dark surface arises which gets broken with a „wrong“ mark .. Clearly I can’t change my experimental way of working and my solution is to integrate them by lightly polishing.
