My heart goes to @kit.connor šŸ’“ & anyone else who has experienced a forced coming out (including myself) - you should never feel obligated to tell the world anything about yourself that you’re not ready to / do not want to. No one owes you a coming out - whether they are your friend, sibling, work colleague, celebrity or whatever, they should never feel obligated to come out to you if they aren’t ready to or simply do not wish to come out to you/come out ever. They do not owe you a coming out for you to validate them as they are - label or not! A forced coming out is an outing. An outing is disclosing a persons sexual orientation or gender identity without that persons consent. It also includes speculating the persons identity even when the person has stated that they aren’t that identity or do not wish to disclose their identity as of yet. Please: - never assume someone’s sexuality and/or gender identity - never discuss a persons sexuality and/or gender identity without the consent of said person - do not give ā€˜advice’ on someone’s orientation if they haven’t asked for it - do not say ā€˜I bet you’re...’ or ā€˜I can tell you’re ...’ That’s never okay All the love to Kit & those forced to come out early šŸ’“āœØ You are loved šŸ’“šŸ³ļøā€āš§ļøšŸŒˆ
