Please share ... human rights alert! Prior to Ukraine being invaded, despite denials, the signs & the rhetoric alerted the world. The Azerbaijani government - with one of the lowest freedom scores on the planet - is not even trying to be so cryptic because they hope oil & gas sales can make people forget about murderous acts & war crimes in this modern age ... do not let that happen! They have already invaded Armenia, killed soldiers & mutilated their corpses, Azeri & Turkish governmental leaders have openly discussed the annihilation of the Armenian people & taking over Armenia’s historic homeland because of justifications like ... “how can you prove it was really yours?” ... & their bots, trolls & paid operatives are out in full force. I am in touch with U.S. government officials & they know Armenia would not be the aggressor. To claim that Armenia would violate a ceasefire at this point is not only a lie, but it is meant as a smokescreen to justify further aggression. Do not believe anything to the contrary ... I know geopolitics are complicated, but if you are a U.S. citizen, enough is enough. Have you seen the state of our cities? Have you seen the needs of our own veterans? Why should your taxpayer dollars & commerce be used to destroy the only democracy in the region? A few weeks ago, members of my family visited the Sardarabad memorial. Here, against the odds, Armenians stood strong against the invading Ottoman Empire. While the Armenian Genocide was well underway, this brave defense may have prevented the complete devastation of the Armenian people in the region. Given the oil, gas, money, weapons in place - & lack of decency & the lack of interest in human rights or international law demonstrated by the Azeri government & their allies - we have reached a critical point.
