Subscribe via the link in the bio to explore his tips :) Gabriel Rivera is a twenty-nine-year-old observer, photo maker and darkroom printer of Puerto Rican roots based in New York and Italy. He’s also the incredible mind behind all the photography for Contour’s ‘Onwards!’ project. The spirit of his work can be found surrounding the everyday nuances of sensorial feeling with keen attention to his photographic process entirely devoted and cared for from start to finish by hand. For him, the truth is in an intuitive self-depositing approach, where there isn’t a metric that can be put to the way the mind ponders about the relationship between light and time or moments shared with a subject before ever pressing the shutter. Fully leaning into the magic found in a one-off result full of human touch makes room for human error and how those errors are oftentimes glimpses of subconscious perfection.
