Earlier this year we headed to Florence to document the process of our handles and coasters being made. In the beginning of this video, you can see liquid red hot brass being poured into earth moulds in the founderia up in the hills in Chianti. It was a weirdly profound moment watching our brassware literally emerge from the earth. I felt alive (and welled up a little)! The rest of the processes, if a little less wild, I find equally mesmerising to watch. Each of our pieces is worked on by hand using age old methods and some tools from the 1800s. The machine over which our bow handles are bent was invented just for us though! I love going to see our collection being made in this beautiful old-fashioned way. I may push these poor men to the edge with my broken Italian, but at least I speak it with gusto!
