Last month, His Majesty The King Charles III, when he held the title of HRH The Prince of Wales, performed duties as patron of Braemar Gathering at the famous Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park on Royal Deeside With the cutting of a traditional heather rope, he officially opened the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Archway as a tribute to the service of his mother, who sadly passed away the following week at Balmoral. The archway was a collaboration between The Prince’s Foundation and The Braemar Royal Highland Society, the two organisations who also collaborated on the construction of The Duke of Rothesay Highland Games Pavilion, which is now run by BRHA. Her Majesty was the most ardent supporter of Highland Games, and the new structure will stand proudly in her memory for many annual Braemar Gatherings to come.
