the summer of the unexpected. the time i was hired for my dream job as a overnight counselor, my life looked very different, my relationship with Christ was in the deepest valley it had ever dropped. this summer i allowed Him to move me, i prayed for Him to bring me to my lowest so all i could do is praise. i can surely say without a doubt, He provides. the kids i spoke into and the support i could give other counselors cannot compare to the way my campers and staff shaped me to live and love more like God. after this summer i am taking hold of what my identity is in the God who created me, rather then what the world will define me as. I grew with the best overnight crew i could ask for, and had the best people guiding me along the way. woodcrest will always be a second home. to my gray squirrel cabin, thank you for all of the sunrise mornings, prayer times, songs sung, late nights, testimony fires, spider catches, and sweet campers that i prayed to “smite” to sleep without homesickness. this is a launchpad summer to loving God in everything and everyone.
