I’m taking part in the Recycle Your Electricals ‘Love Your Old Toaster’ campaign because I’m determined to help tackle the growing problem of electrical waste - one of the fastest growing sources of waste in the world, and the UK. We currently throw away 11.4 million toasters every year in the UK, with 46% of us not knowing how or where to recycle them. But toasters - and anything else with a plug, battery or cable - can and should be recycled. Recycle Your Electricals have created a recycling bring bank, disguised as a giant toaster and featuring the artwork of the brilliant Eloisa Henderson-Figueroa, to remind us to always recycle our electricals. I recycled mine in the toaster at Westfield Stratford last Friday, and the toaster is coming to Westfield London this weekend.
