André Leon Talley This February, Christie’s New York is proud to present the collection of the legendary fashion editor André Leon Talley in one live and two online sales. As the first Black man to hold the title of Creative Director of American Vogue, Mr. Talley held a rarefied status in the fashion industry. His discerning taste extended well beyond fashion and his personal trove into haute couture, handbags, jewellery, fine art, literature and decorative arts. The collection will be offered on behalf of Mr. Talley’s estate to benefit causes he chose to support in his lifetime. Proceeds will go towards the Abyssinian Baptist Church in New York and Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Durham, North Carolina.
