YOUR VENUE CAN WORK FOR OR AGAINST YOU SO HERE’S WHY YOU SHOULD.. ..wait to book your venue until you confirm what your ideal budget will be AND finalize the overall design vision you want to create. We all hear: “YOU NEED TO BOOK YOUR VENUE FIRST”.. I don’t agree! I think the two things that go hand in hand are your budget and your design. Once you have fully finalized those two areas, the venue should be the third thing that you do. I had a couple come to me after booking their venue which cost 62% of their overall budget. That meant less of the finer details that were actually going to move their design forward. If you have a very specific, niche design vision, there are only a handful of venues that will be right for you and your venue can either make or break your design. You want a venue that will align so perfectly with your design, a venue that moves the design forward. Now, if you have a simpler design – just color scheme – you can *most likely* get away with any type of venue. However, when we get into those very tailored designs – English Garden Manor, French Chateau, Forest Fairytale – the venue you choose can very easily limit you and work against you. Choosing a venue that works for you means: Your overall design is going to be aligned which means perfect cohesion from beginning to end and if you know me, then you know cohesion is my absolute fave when planning and designing for my couples. You will need to bring in less details just to “cover up” areas that are the opposite of your theme. This means that your budget is going to the areas that it NEEDS to and not the areas that it HAS to. Waiting to choose your venue means that the planning journey will actually be much more smooth, seamless and painless! And just for funsies, here’s the ideal (correct) order for your planning 🤪: Choose your Planner, define your budget, create design vision, book your dream venue!!
