Ever since my mom’s passing writing has been an outlet to me, making my grief a moving process, trying to never get stuck along the way. When @zwartekoffie and I started talking about Until One Sunday We Didn’t (worktitle around that time was still “the book”) I could only hope that while talking, thinking and illustrating the whole process of it would be therapeutic in a way for him as well. I’m touched that Timo let me be a part of such an intimate project, and getting to know parts of his father Bob, the book’s protagonist, along the way. The result is just as intimate as the talks we had about Bob’s bipolar disorder and the stories Timo bravely shared with me.
