“If I’m ever having a bad day, I make sure to go find Honky Tonk and give him a hug. Honky Tonk may be a donkey, but I do believe he is part unicorn; somewhere along the way, his horn just got lost. He’s so majestic and always lets his spirit be his guide. His spirit often leads him to food, so pick any time of the day, and he’s probably at the feeder eating hay. I love how he’s happy in any social situation, whether hanging out with the cows or floating between the two ‘cliques’ of donkeys. He’s also happy to be completely by himself. He’s such a content guy, and I strive to match his confidence and zest for life. He LOVES people and getting love and attention. There’ve been times my heart has burst with joy when he’s seen me coming from afar, stopped what he’s doing (eating), and made a beeline straight for me. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is. Honky Tonk stands perfectly still while I hug his neck and tell him how amazing he is. Also, his nose is soft like velvet and he never opposes a smooch.
