It was great to be on @gmb this morning with @susannareid100 @benshephardofficial @diptitait to discuss whether children should attend funerals in light of the State funeral yesterday. I do think we need to give our children tools in how to deal with grief, talk about their feelings, learn how to process their emotions in healthy and positive ways and I think funerals are part of the grieving process for everyone. I’m personally still haunted at the image of Prince William and Prince Harry at their mother’s funeral and the role they were made to play but I do think there’s a healthy middle ground. I wasn’t given the greatest tools when it came to processing my feelings about anything, so I ate them like so many others. Death is a part of life and there are cycles all around us Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring and it’s the same with our life force and should be discussed carefully, openly and with love and support.
