I grew up in the Georgia mud. Precious years & countless memories as a little girl spent with dirt under her nails. Counting seeds to plant in the backyard garden, picking blueberries from the bushes out back, running a few feet to Nana Dot & Papa Charles’s house for sweet tea & a cookie as the sun is setting. Summers spent canoeing down the river, puddles from a storm that last so long you’re able to watch the evolution from a tadpole to a frog. Mud pies & treasure maps, making wishes on dandelions to one day live in a big city where all my dreams came true. Looking for magic at the end of rainbow, counting the days until I could leave my tiny town. Then slowly but surely, year by year, the stained glass pieces of my life started to really take shape. I’ve watched my own evolution, navigating & growing into the woman I am & all I’m to become. At my core exists that little girl from Georgia. She wants to howl at the moon, jump in puddles, write a poem under a willow tree. We play, create, & explore together. The little girl & the woman.
