People don’t really believe me when I tell them I have a hard time understanding what Linsanity means to people. They think I’m pretending to be humble. Real talk, my first instinct is to think what the critics say - “all this from two good weeks of basketball?! And then what?” There are so many different ways I wish my career had gone or ways I didn’t live up to my potential. But this journey with #38AtTheGarden has been so humbling. To hear all the diff people I deeply respect, and @ronnychieng (jk), share about what this story means to them, and more importantly to hear so many Asian Americans share about what this still means to them, man...I’m just grateful. Idk why things happen the way they did and I don’t know why God chose me to have this moment but I know that I’m grateful. And I have faith. If this story continues to inspire anyone, reminds them that they are more than the stereotypes and boxes put on them, opens their view of themselves and challenges them to open their views of someone else, then I’m grateful we can keep telling it.
