My pride piece 🏳️‍🌈 in the @metro.co.uk today. I am celebrating those brands engaged in pushing forward acceptance and LGBT+ rights. A cause dear to my heart. First of all, it’s lovely to be back in the main paper again, thanks Liz! This is also an especially poignant piece given my own LGBT journey, which those close to me know all about. Though it took me thirty seven years to come clean to myself about my own sexuality, so I understand it’s a hard and bloody traumatic process. There was a time when I was going to take the ‘accepted’ fork in the road, but thanks to the fantastically supportive family and friends in my life, I’m so glad I didn’t and now am engaged to my special man, @tommycawley . Anyway, gushing statement no one asked for aside, let’s celebrate how things have moved on for the LGBTQ+ community from what I see, though I’m a relative newby, and understand that there’s still a way to go.
