It makes me happy when collectors send photos of my paintings in their homes! This one was painted as a demonstration piece during a painting workshop that I gave on @ritzcarltonyachtcollection’s yacht, Evrima, during her transatlantic crossing. I was teaching a floral painting class, and painted this piece to show students a variety of techniques that they could try for themselves: I incorporated collage (I used the gold foil from empty Moët bottles), retractive painting (where I scraped away the wet paint to create skinny lines), and of course, applying paint with a paint brush, to create the shapes of abstract flowers that I envisioned in my mind!
