Today marks eleven years since the beginning of the war in Syria. Syrian children born in this last decade have grown up knowing nothing but conflict in their homeland. Many have been forced to flee to neighbouring countries, where they lack basic necessities that many of us take for granted. People often ask us “how can we solve the refugee crisis?”, as if it is a complex question. For us, it’s simple. The Syrian families and young people we support in Lebanon and Europe need two things: security, and access to education. And we’ve been providing that for the last seven years.
