Yesterday I set out to find a small waterfall in the Tonto National Forest, it’s been pretty rainy here, and although the hike isn’t a hard one, I hadn’t factored in that it’s been pouring rain in the desert for days. Humbled once again by nature... I wasn’t fully prepared 🫢 💦 When in doubt, and going waterfall chasing: -Wear waterproof boots 🥾 (unless you like that gross squishy feeling that promotes blisters) -Bring trekking poles for river crossings -Consider your pets abilities and safety (Ava can’t be off leash for even a moment so scrambling rocks can be difficult, and she hates water) 🐕 -Bring backup socks, and shoes to change into (if your feet get wet. Besides, what feels better than changing out of your hiking shoes!?) -Don’t do dangerous things when you are alone to pursue a waterfall or a view 🤣 Water in the desert always feels so magical, and these falls were beautiful (truly the video doesn’t do it justice) just wish I could have gotten closer!
