I told my team to only wake me up if 1. We were in danger or 2. There were sharks On day 32 they strayed from this request and for good reason. They had found TWO snack packs with MY name on it after I thought I was on my last one. It’s funny how much happiness a single fruit cup can bring you. I miss this about being in the middle of the ocean. Although I have a much different perspective on many things now, and have definitely carried this kind of gratitude with me back on land, it still can’t be mimicked completely when you’re constantly surrounded by so many luxuries. My team knew me well, more than most people in my life. They knew I would be just as excited about a fruit cup as seeing a shark. And they gave me this very happy moment- so overwhelmed I just slumped right over the cabin door.
