Porsche’s 961. -1987- In the spirit of this weekends 24H of Le Mans I wanted to post a couple of my favorite race cars: - 959 based group B car - 1 of 1 - Raced twice at #LM24 - Finished 7th overall in ‘86, ahead of many Group C prototypes and BMW’s M1. - Driven by my pal Kees Nierop in 87, the car ran in Rothmans colors in tandem with the overall winning 962 of Stuck, Bell and Holbert. -DNF in 87 for the 961 after a misshift / crash / small fire. - On display at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart Images : Kees Nierop #lemans #porsche959
