This handsome fella is named Boris and he came to visit my tent at @sararacamp while I was visiting the neighboring Reteti Elephant Sanctuary (@r.e.s.c.u.e ) in northern Kenya. Boris is a regular at Sarara. Elephants in this area were hunted to near extinction in the mid-1990's but thanks to community conservation, and the work of organizations like @r.e.s.c.u.e, the region now holds the second largest population of elephants in Kenya. It's amazing what nature can accomplish when we give it a chance. #elephants #conservation #kenya #africa
