Heading to the North Cascades? Don’t miss this hike just outside the national park! 🏔🥾 At just 3.8 miles, this hike packs in some AMAZING views. It a beautiful alpine lake, 360 views of the Cascades, and— when we did the hike in August— hills COVERED in wildflowers. 🌻 See below for the details, and save this post for your next trip to Washington state! 🧡 Name: Sauk Mountain Trail 📍 Location: Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest 📏 Length: 3.8 miles 🏔 Elevation gain: 1,148 feet ⚠️ Bug-o-meter: 4.5/5 Mosquitos are abundant, so we’d recommend wearing pants and bringing bug spray. 🦟 The road coming up here is ROUGH. It’s unpaved, and features some major switchbacks that take you up nearly 4,000 feet.
