📷: @rareroots.ict About this cabinet: This is my very first IKEA Greenhouse Cabinet build, and I'm so proud of how it turned out. I struggle with depression and anxiety, and plants in general have been a huge help, but this cabinet brings me so much peace, and a real sense of calm and accomplishment. I purchased the black Rudsta wide but always wanted a white cabinet, so my husband helped make that dream a reality, with a lot of sanding, priming and painting (all products will be listed below). The painting was actually much easier than I thought it would be and I’m so glad we decided to go through with it. We primed everything before assembly and then painted after assembly to avoid scuffing paint and to make sure it would fit together properly. This was a lot of work because we had to tape/paper off the glass but totally worth it. I would highly recommend an Appliance Epoxy for paint because it’s super moisture resistant. I also use a smart outlet. I have all my lights and fans plugged into a power strip and the strip is plugged into the smart outlet. I keep my lights on 16 hours a day, and whenever the lights are on, so are the fans. Cabinet: Rudsta IKEA store: @ikeausa Products: • We used Rustoleum Clean Metal primer and their white Appliance Epoxy spray paint for this project, purchased from Lowes • Shelf: Mackapär Shoe Rack, IKEA (these fit *perfectly* inside the Rudsta. I bought two of these and configured them for my desired height) • Leca tray: Bagmuk Boot Tray, IKEA (the only modification I needed was to cut a little bit of the front lip out so the doors could magnet shut) • Lights: Barrina T5 Full Spectrum LED 2’ Lights, Amazon • Fans: ANEXT Small 80mm fans, White x 2, Amazon • Hygrometer: Govee Wi-Fi Hygrometer with threshold alerts, Model H5051001, Amazon • Small shelves: Magnet Spice Rack shelves, brand Hoopoton, Amazon • Smart Tech: Smart outlet by Govee, Model xxxxx, Amazon • Weather stripping: I used the Hestya 3mm striping for one of my doors, from Amazon.
