This is Muffin, a three-legged dog who was rescued after a hit and run. When the catastrophic flooding in Pakistan left a third of the country under water, her shelter, the Lucky Animal Protection Shelter (LAPS), was hit hard. Some of the 265 dogs at the shelter, including Muffin, were left swimming in up to six feet of water as the staff worked as quickly as possible to save them. ⁠ ⁠ The LAPS staff was able to rush nearly 200 dogs to safety. But the flood waters rose above their heads so quickly that they had to come back on boats to save the last 65 dogs. They worked through the night, swimming to the dogs and then lifting them onto the boats.⁠ ⁠ IFAW supported LAPS with an emergency grant to help them provide the dogs in their care with the supplies they need and next steps to recover their shelter.⁠ ⁠ We cannot let these dogs and other animals suffer a moment longer.
