Run 18 miles with me 🤍 (beginner tips below) Yeah so this one was extremely hard but I finished it and pushing through it is an accomplishment in itself 😅 I’ve had a lot of questions on how I was able to start running and what I’ve done to make it easier! Here’s a few beginner running tips below if you’re looking to get started. This is just what has worked for me personally but I would love if anyone added their own advice or motivation in the comment section 🫶🏼 A few running tips I swear by: -Run slower than you think! I used to sprint, get out of breath in less than a mile and think that was running. Slowing down and being able to control your breathing the entire time is so important to building endurance. There is different ways to breathe but I always try to be able to breathe in and out of my nose comfortably (if I can’t I’m going too fast). -Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. I’ve learned this the hard way (as you can see in this vlog). Make sure you’re hydrating not only the day you run but the day before and prioritize lots of electrolytes! -Have a playlist with all of your favorite music. I used to think I needed a playlist with fast songs and really upbeat but I’ve found I actually love a more chill playlist to get me through a run. -Nike Run Club app. My friend swore by using this and I can confidently say it is one of the best tools in the world to help you run! I use their guided runs with coach bennett every time and it helps you keep a good mindset plus give you coaching I 1000% recommend it! It’s also a great way to log your runs. -Have the best mindset possible. I thought running was purely physical but I’ve learned a lot of it is based around a positive mindset. The days I’m feeling negative my runs never go as well and working on my mindset is the only thing that gets me through it.
