Whether that meant redoing my original patterns or mixing in fabric remnants from old looks, I believe in building up a body of work... & Each collection of mine builds upon previous ones. ♻️ It seems like yesterday I started designing, but in reality it’s been over a decade!! I’m pictured wearing an updated version of the “Rosie” coverup dress which I first designed in 2009. It was such a fab event with my longtime friend @leynabloom opening the show! She’s been there since the first Rosina~Mae fashion showcase in ‘09. I guess you could say I take slow-fashion seriously... and while I do things unconventionally (producing on demand ethically & locally in small quantities), l refuse to compromise my values. I love Manhattan’s Garment District. Kudos to @wendy.wai & @giosanchezfashion_ for helping to make this collection possible. During the pandemic I pivoted from designing swimwear to also focusing on my textile art... all whilst keeping the environment in mind. The small scraps & remnants used are from previous collections... and some are also obtained from @fab_scrap & various thrift stores. Econyl®️ also appears in various swim pieces.
