Last week I headed south to @greatsmokynps with @kristenwilkinsonphotography to catch the fall foliage there. On our last evening there, we headed to Clingman's Dome to catch the sunset. One of the cool things about the Smokies is the way the mist turns the mountains into these big simple shapes, which allowed me to create images like this, looking more like a silkscreen or a graphic painting than a photograph. I love the way the mountains layer one upon the other beneath the setting sun. All in all it was a great week with a bunch of new work made.
