Arts and cultural industries grew at twice the rate of the U.S. economy, adding $1.2 trillion. The arts added more to U.S. GDP than agriculture, forestry, fishing, hunting, mining, outdoor recreation, transportation and warehousing. And yet, 60% of artists in NYC are living below the poverty line. Whose to blame and how can things change?
I’m proud to be producing this event alongside Gregory Mosher, Jenny Rroji and Chad Kaydo at CUNY Hunter College’s Office of The Arts.
