My 2nd dive of the comp was a consecutive day, i.e. I didn’t have a chance for a full rest, so I chose to use the day for an easy CWT in order to get points for the overall ranking. I literally hadn’t taken my monofin out of the closet in over a year, since last year’s VB. Luckily it was still in one piece, and I remembered which side to put my feet in.
I’d announced 110m, hoping it would be conservative and easy, but really not knowing what my legs would feel like in the ascent. Luckily I had plenty of gas and was able to complete the dive even faster than last year’s 106 CWT, in a time of 2:50. Maybe doing one dive a year is the way to go! 😅
