It’s been a week since we put out Rotoscope, Sew Me Up and Hysteria. I have found the surprise release of our new songs to be very satisfying, as I didn’t feel any of that pressure that is a big part of a traditional song release or album roll out. I was just able to enjoy your first reactions with no added speculation or anything like that. These sessions consisted of the initial song writing in December 2021, a bit of polishing up before we went on our first real tour in February of 2022, and then officially recording them after completing the tour in April. I love these songs so much, and it was very important to us for you to hear all three together. Maybe it’s too much to call it a three part song, but lyrically they are a family and I would love for you to listen to them in order. Thank you for keeping an open mind and for the warm reception. I don’t like to think of the music I make at this point in my life as “maturing” or “evolving”. That always kind of makes me roll my eyes as there is nothing mature or evolved about me lol. I just think about each song as a little slice of who I am, and there is no black and white “this is now the only music I make from now on” and no appropriate ratio of singing to screaming.
