A pit-stop in Rosarito is an absolute must for those road-tripping from Southern California to anywhere south of the Mexico border. While there are plenty of seafood specialists in and around the beachside town, follow the scent of butter and garlic to chef Lorena Lopez's Mariscos La Estrella (@mariscoslaestrella) in the fishing village of Popotla. The specialty here is spider crab (marciano) sauteed in an incredibly rich and aromatic sauce. To reveal the marciano’s sweet flesh, pound the legs caveman-style using the provided rock and wooden board.
