Haven’t seen a local rock scene like the one we had a couple decades ago — at venues such as The Garage & The Dragonfly— in a long time. The Cadillac CLub & Pretty Ugly were more than spots to see cool bands. They were about creating a community & we made so many close connections & friends at both in the late 90s. So last night’s birthday bash for our dear friend #RickyVodka who brought back Cadillac at its old location (now @thevirgilbar) was a wonderful family reunion. Dug the NY Dolls vibes of @thesweetthingstonk & always a treat to see my girl @vanessaburgundy perform. @motochrist666 rock as hard as ever & guests including @frankieberry & @gilbygtr plus @fasterp_ssycat (and #PrettyUgly/ #cathouse creator) @taimed made it a night to remember. I truly hope as the post-pandemic live music renaissance evolves, that a new scene as lively & fun emerges for a new generation. But if it doesn’t, we all have great memories... and this! Hbd Ricky!
