The Woodland Cemetery – Skogskyrkogården – is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994, an outstanding example of integration of architecture and landscape, and one of the most beautiful places to visit in Stockholm at any time of the year. 🌲🏛🌲 It was created over a period of a quarter century (1915-1940) on about 250 acres of pine-covered boulder ridge under the direction of the famous modernist architects Gunnar Asplund and Sigurd Lewerentz. 🌲🌲🌲🌲 This important creation of modern architecture is located in southern Stockholm, and getting here by public transport is easy.
