In the military, we become accustomed to having a large number of people behind us and a direct path in front of us. Expectations are clear. This is rarely the case in the civilian world. It can be hard to focus and find your way when you are on your own and without a community to support you." Q: "How do you compare the civilian experience to the military experience? A: "Something I think civilians could learn from the veteran community is our ability to find a way to get things done. Veterans are tenacious. So many people give up when things get hard. The military trains us to persevere and find a way to accomplish the mission or goal."
