Oliver Sim (@hideousbastard) has announced his debut album ‘Hideous Bastard’ and we’re extremely proud of him. In the making of an album, in the practice of expressing things once emotionally inaccessible to him, Oliver has used the process of creating ‘Hideous Bastard’ as the agent of vital change and serves as a testament to Oliver as he is now, anew. So, we’re understandably delighted that ‘Hideous Bastard’ exists, that Oliver Sim is putting it out and that today you get to hear its first track ‘Hideous’. ⁠ ⁠ ‘Hideous’ says enough in itself that we’ll leave it to speak for itself. However, along the way we got the pleasure of working with and being educated by the Terrence Higgins Trust @thtorguk. They taught us to appreciate how incredible it is to see Oliver speak so openly and honestly about his experience of living with HIV. We hope it inspires those who hear it to find out more about the realities of HIV today, including the fact that someone living with HIV and on effective treatment can’t pass it on to partners. This is known as U=U or Undetectable = Untransmittable.
