This hotel deserves its own post, not only because it’s gorgeous, but also because it has sustainability at its core (beyond the standard «hang your towels if you don’t want them washed»). @janeirohotel was designed by @oskarmetsavaht who brought his knowledge of sustainability from the fashion industry (@osklen) into the creation of this hotel, using his concept ASAP = As Sustainable As Possible, As Soon As Possible 🌊 Little things become big by daily repetition, like refillable options for drinking water, shampoo and soap. It’s lovely to see a hotel without single-use plastics! They have energy-efficient air conditioning and the interior and decor are locally sourced - the same goes for the food in the hotel's two restaurants. They hire locals and recruit refugees into their work force and also support initiatives like beach clean-ups and a foundation for children's education in the area. 🌊 The hotel does not feel flashy, but made me feel comfortable with understated luxury and excellent service ✨ / not an ad, just excitement! 🙃 #conscioustravel #sustainablehotel #riodejaneiro #brazil
