In keeping up with our commitment to giving back to the Black Community and transparency with our Tribe, we present the total donation amount that @activelyblack has given in the past 12 months. Almost half a Million Dollars has been donated to Black owned charities, non-profits, and organizations that have their hands and feet in the Black community. For a brand that just turned 2 years old, we are extremely proud of the impact that is already being felt. We know our impact will grow as we do. We have to give a HUGE shout out and thank you to THE TRIBE!! None of this is possible without you. We cannot fulfill the mission and purpose for @activelyblack without the support from the Tribe. Recently we have been so disappointed by the increase in negative comments and messages from our own people. 1 of the main complaints has been about our pricing. Many don’t know or understand everything it takes to start a business from nothing and to grow. Especially for Black owned brands that don’t get the same access to venture capital funding. (Less than 2% of all VC funding goes to Black businesses). Our segment of the industry is especially difficult given that we cannot just buy blanks and print on this type of apparel. Every product we offer is made from scratch, cut and sewn with the most premium athleisure and performance fabrics. We are a small Black brand competing in the same areas as Nike, Adidas, Lululemon etc., Even with their post 2020 pledges to the Black community, these multi billion dollar brands that have profited for a long time from Black talent and Black consumerism have only pledged less than 0.025% of their revenue to the Black community. Transparently, we have done a little over $5 Million in revenue the last 12 months and have donated almost $500k. That is 10% of our Revenue!! No other brand can make that claim. So when you see our prices for our PREMIUM quality products, please understand that we are not only providing salaries with benefits for the Black talent behind the brand, but we are also directly giving back to the Black community in real tangible ways.
