Irene Sofia Comi has two first names and cannot give up either of them. Perhaps her solar nature does not provide for a desire for synthesis. Captured as she walks towards her workstation in the Atelier on the first floor, which we share and enliven daily for the 4-month residency, Irene Sofia is a classic example of a Gryffindor: Mediterranean, talkative and temperate. Expert in esotericism, she investigates relationships between human and non-human. She’s the other curator I work with: she studied Art History and is dedicating herself to a PhD in Visual Arts. She considers words as means of subjectively transcribing reality, and loves to write stories and imagine characters. The tiger is her spirit animal: the web’s most loved one, but on the verge of extinction on Earth. She was born under the sign of Cancer, rising Aquarius, Moon in Capricorn. Sooner or later, she hopes to moderate a debate between Woody Allen, Michael Nyman and Moira Orfei.
