TODAY! I’m so honored to be headlining @fahmfeststockton — when I think of Filipino American HISTORY Month, I think of places like Stockton, which is home to Little Manila, that has so much Filipino American history embedded in it since the early 1900s. It’s home to Filipino American labor organizers. It’s the stomping grounds of leaders like Larry Itliong and Dr. Dawn Mabalon, and a beautiful example of a Filipino community that created a cultural legacy, and that defied and organized, especially during times when it was challenging or dangerous to do so. I’m very grateful to be able to perform here, especially during #FAHM! Let’s never forget our history, but never be afraid to own our stories and challenge the narratives moving forward.
