Just chillin’ over here on a Sunday thinking about anger 🤨🤣. The truth is I am triggered a bit during shoots like the one seen here, especially by the fact that if I don’t show my stomach then less people will show up for what I can actually do for them on the mat with my brain.

The way we understand anger matters greatly to our health. I wanted to give you an honest take on what it means to work through anger, both on and off that mat. Often seen as our most animalistic and perhaps unrefined emotion, anger is easily cast off as an inherently negative feeling. There are many reasons for that—especially for historically marginalized people who have been denied the right to be angry. Anger may be dangerous, but it is also holds a power even Gandhi recognized as an intrinsic part of the human condition. As someone passionate about respecting our primal selves, I wrote about the ways in which we can honor anger in order to transcend it, both within this practice and in your daily life. We can hold space for our full range of emotion, as long as we both reflect and love as deeply as we can.
Personally, I work though all of my emotions during our workout time, and when I have fear or upset, I feel so much resolve after class. What has annoyed you lately, and did you take it to the mat this weekend? 🥰
