Photos by @alice.zoo I was working alongside Mahmut Miski, Professor of Pharmacognosy at the University of Istanbul, for the duration of this assignment for @natgeo. During fieldwork in the 1980s, Miski was led to a garden of huge ferula plants quite by chance, and felt sure there was something special about them. The samples he took from those plants remain in the university archive 40 years later.
