⍟⍨Crossroads Magick⍨⍟ It is said that crossroads (where roads intersect) are liminal spaces without time and that they possess powerful energy for magick. Throughout history and across various cultures, crossroads have been considered opportune places for petition magick. Hecate, known as the Greek Goddess of the Crossroads, can assist in these magickal workings, but do keep in mind that this crone goddess is strong and forthright. She does not coddle. I perform my crossroads petition magick in the woods where two old wagon trails intersect. If this is not ideal for you, gather dirt from a crossroads and perform your magick at home. Here are the basic steps (as seen in the reel): 1. Draw a circle in the dirt for protection. Work your magick inside the circle. 2. Place a heatproof vessel in the center of the circle. 3. Place black candles and smoky quartz in the space for protection and to neutralize any potential negative energy. 4. Add dried mugwort to your vessel. When you burn your petition inside, it will provide added protection and enhance psychic energy. 5. Burn your written petition with the mugwort, sending your intention out into the Universe to work its magick. 6. Combine the ash that is left behind with dirt from the crossroads and use it to dress a spell candle. Since my petition involves communication, I used an orange candle which has associations with communication. 7. Burn your spell candle, continuing to send out your intention into the Universe. Let it burn out completely (if time does not allow for this, snuff it out and bring it home to burn). 8. It is customary to “pay for the dirt” by leaving an offering (traditionally, three pennies are buried in the soil). So mote it be. 🧡XX
