Infertility issues are not just due to women. 👉🏻The study quoted stated that sperm count can be down due to a variety of issues: stress, poor diet, lack of nutrients, environmental toxins including phthalates, and more. Phthalates are endocrine disruptors (mimic your real hormones, so they can’t do their full job). Men can be affected by phthalates too. Not just women. Info about phthalates: 1️⃣Coined, the “everywhere chemical”, phthalates are human-made chemicals, hidden under terms like “fragrances”, “parfum”, and are found in everything from plastics to personal and cleaning products to home goods, etc. 2️⃣The general exposure to endocrine disruptors, including phthalates, is considered as one of the reasons for diminished sperm count and deteriorated sperm quality, which may lead to infertility and higher incidence of congenital malformations of the genital tract.(1) 3️⃣Studies and recent research have linked phthalate exposure to blood levels of low testosterone in almost 15,000 men nationwide.
-The men who were 40 years and younger were exposed via personal care products.(2)
4️⃣One Harvard study showed that a single use of cologne can significantly increase the DEP, phthalates, in his body! (3)
5️⃣BUT- we can control what products we choose to buy and which companies to support. We can choose to buy products (especially beauty products) without the phthalates.
