💚💙 Arsanas Beach, Thassos island, Greece 🇬🇷 🏞 On the south side of the island of Thassos, 39 km from Limenas and next to Livadi beach, the old tarsana (old shipyard) pop of the Archangel Michael Monastery will steal your heart. 💦 The blue-green waters in Arsanas will offeryou unique swimming experience. The dips in Arsanas beach with its stones and white pebbles will rejuvenate your soul and body as underwater springs gush forth in the area. 🥾 Access to Arsanas is not that easy but the enchanting location will reward you for your effort. You can get here either by following the dirt road from Livadi, or carefree with a tourist boat. ⛪️ The monastery of Archangel Michail - which can be seen above the beach in my picture, hanging on the rock - built at the edge of a cliff with a breathtaking view of the Aegean Sea and Mount Athos (Agion Oros), it gives the visitor a sense of being suspended. The first report referring to the year of its foundation is found in a document dated back to 1287. According to the inscription on the western entrance, the building was restored or completed in 1835.
