Our Savoury Porridge is made with oats, garlic, parsley and garnished seasonally.
Savoury gruels, pottages and porridges have been part of the British diet since cooking began. These were bread, oats or wheat based and strong flavors were added such as onions, herbs or garlic to give otherwise bland and repetitive dishes more punch.
Our inspiration came from ‘The Whole Body of Cookery Dissected’ by William Rabisha in 1660.
Currently available on our vegan and vegetarian menus.
